Can spirited Regency era heroines defy convention and find love in unexpected places?
Victoria Richardson Heland grew up in Salisbury, Maryland. Her love of history can be traced to sneaking up to the attic at Georgetown Visitation and examining some of its treasures by flashlight. She is deeply grateful to whomever it was who periodically left the door unlocked.
Right out of college, Victoria became a computer programmer. Later she taught high school English and is still in touch with some of her former students. Dozens of her articles, poems, and stories have appeared in national and regional publications, and she has edited three nonfiction books.
Her historical novels include 3 Regency Romances: London Frolic, The Artful Cousin, and Mayfair Wager.
She now lives in Richmond, Virginia with her husband, partner, and soul mate, together with their exceptional cat.
In the enchanting world of Regency England, where in aristocratic circles rules and propriety reign supreme, will the dashing barrister Lord Brampton and spirited country girl Diana Fletcher follow the whispers of their heart or succumb to societal pressure? London Frolic unfolds as a captivating tale of love, longing, and romantic schemes. Through the Great Fog of London in 1813-14 and multiple snowstorms, their undeniable attraction ignites. Against the backdrop of an era defined by grandeur and tradition, Diana and Lord Brampton must navigate the treacherous waters of societal expectations, risking everything for a chance at lasting love.
From the moment Winston Waltham arrives, he upends Adriana Prescott’s peaceful country life. It seems her only escape from the strong feelings he unsettles in her is to act the dowdy chaperone for her beautiful cousin Jennifer’s London debut. Scores of men seem utterly captivated by the all-too-perfect Jennifer. As schemes and charades, pretense and disguises play out, it appears that love may be hidden in plain sight.
Pledged to one lord, pursued by another, and in love with a third! Just who is the stunning, chestnut-locked, latest toast of the ton? Aurora Somerset, who, at twenty-three, stakes her future on the hunch that she will be happier with elderly Lord Simsbury than with her dashing — and philandering — neighbor, Lord Egerton.
But at the Mayfair house of Simsbury's sister, where Aurora is transformed from country duckling to city swan, a third lord enters the scene. Handsome, sophisticated, and just cynical enough to pique a sheltered woman's interest, Lord Kensington escorts his uncle's fiancée about town -- while Egerton wagers he can win her heart.
